There are many different causes and effects that reflect what a nations society will look like and grow to be in the future. In Chapter 14 of " The Renaissance In The North" there were certain effects the spread of humanism had in Northern Europe. A  quote from the book says " new humanism carried Northern Europe from its conservative intellectual patterns and offered alternatives to traditional religious doctrines." (Ch.14 pg.324) This lead to the production of new visions for artist leading to some of the world greatest paintings. Also English drama played a huge role in there society too. To this day one of the best Renaissance English drama achievements came from the work of William Shakespeare.

Religion also has a huge impact on humanism in Northern Europe. In the text it says that " Humanists and reformers move toward a better understanding of the Bible based not on the authority of theological interpretation but on close, critical observation of the text."( Ch.14 pg.353) Lots of information on religious reform and the creation of new religious that were separate from the ways of the Catholic church which brought in more variety and different beliefs. All of these new ideas have also influence many people/artist through all of Northern Europe and has brought many new ideas to light.
